UDBHAVANA Talk Show conducted on Effective Resume Building

The Training and Placement cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar organized UDBHAVANA Talk Show cum Webinar, on the topic, "Effective Resume Building". Director, IMS(Hisar) &  renowned Counsellor and Motivational Speaker Dr. Dinesh Nagpal was the key speaker of the program. Director(Placement) Pratap Singh presided over the function.

Students Nisith Shubhankar and Vishwas Bajaj hosted the show by asking number of questions related to Resume Building from Dr. Dinesh Nagpal on behalf of other students.

A total of Sixty students joined in for the Talk Show from GJUS&T and other affiliated colleges. 

Presenting through a PowerPoint Presentation on "Resume Building for Success", Dr. Nagpal told that for any type of interview, a resume is a reflection of the candidate himself. So students should invest sufficient time to prepare original resume instead of copying or pasting. 

He told that an effective resume should comprise of components like Personal details of the candidate, Job Objective, Educational Information along with special achievements, Experience about Internships done, Special awards won, Extra-curricular activities, hobbies & Key responsibilities taken till date.  He clarified that while mentioning Key achievements, One can use PAR method i.e. Problem, Action & Result which indicates that on which assignment you worked, what was your specific role in that and what was the final outcome. He also threw light on the importance of using action verbs in a resume. He also emphasized that correct spelling & grammar in a resume indicates the seriousness & sincerity of candidate. He told that information in the Resume should not be overcrowded.

He suggested that important words in a resume can be in Bold or Italic.

In the end, the coordinator of the event, Nitya Chugh gave a vote of thanks to Dr. Dinesh Nagpal, members of Team UDBHAVANA, and all the participants for the success of this event.
